Disassembly for Your Cybertruck Wrap InstallationUpdated 8 months ago

Before wrapping your Cybertruck, you’ll need to remove several components to ensure a smooth and professional finish. This includes the fender trims, mirrors, and window trims. While we highly recommend following along with our video on the TESBROS courses, here is a step-by-step written guide to assist you with the disassembly process.

1. Removing the Fender Trims

  • Driver’s Side Front Fender Trim:

    • Start with the driver’s side front fender trim.
    • Use jerking motions, pulling the trim straight back toward you (not up or down).
    • Be cautious near the front flares, as they have a camera with a short cord. When you reach this area, gently squeeze the clip to disconnect the camera and set the trim aside in a safe place.
  • Passenger Side Front Fender Trim:

    • Repeat the same steps to remove the passenger side front fender trim.
  • Driver’s Side Rear Fender Trim:

    • Move to the driver’s side rear trim next. This trim comes in two pieces on either side of the charge port.
    • Remove it the same way as the front trims. After removal, check to ensure all clips are still attached to the flares. If any clips are missing, find them either in the fender or on the floor, and reattach them to the flares.
  • Passenger Side Rear Fender Trim:

    • The passenger side rear trim is a single piece, unlike the driver’s side rear trim. Remove it using the same method as the other trims.

2. Removing the Mirrors

  • Accessing the Mirror Bolts:

    • Open the passenger door fully to access the mirror bolts.
    • Remove the rubber cover located underneath the mirror. This cover pulls back from the inside and is attached to the door panel.
    • You’ll see three M8 bolts arranged in a triangle formation. Use the T30 tool provided in your kit to loosen and remove these bolts.
    • Place the bolts in the door pocket or another safe place for safekeeping.
  • Disconnecting the Mirror:

    • Once the bolts are removed, locate the clip below the bolt area. Carefully pull the clip out to reveal the mirror connection.
    • The mirror connection uses a push clip. Gently push the red tab up and pull to release the mirror. You’ll hear a snap as the mirror disconnects from its clips.
    • Repeat the same process on the other side to remove the second mirror.

3. Removing the Window Seals

  • Driver and Passenger Side Window Seals:

    • Stand inside the door and begin removing the window seal by pulling it down little by little.
    • Avoid pulling from only one side to prevent bending the seal. Instead, work evenly along the length of the seal.
    • Once removed, it’s helpful to label the seals with tape so you can easily identify and reinstall them later.
  • Final Steps:

    • After removing the seals, carefully close the doors. Keep in mind that the windows will be a bit looser now that the seals are off.

4. Safety and Storage Tips

  • Organize Your Parts:
    • As you remove each part, store it safely and label it if necessary. This will make reassembly much easier later on.
  • Handle Components with Care:
    • Be mindful of clips and connections, especially around delicate areas like the camera on the front flares. Gentle handling will prevent damage to your vehicle’s components.
