Before you begin wrapping your Tesla, it’s important to familiarize yourself with the tools and materials included in your kit. You’ll receive two boxes: one containing the Prep Kit and the other containing the Vinyl Kit. These kits include everything you need for a successful installation.
1. Prep Kit
The Prep Kit contains all the essential items you need to prepare your vehicle before applying the vinyl wrap:
Red Spray Bottle: This bottle is used for applying cleaning solutions during the prep process. If you're an international customer or if the kit was shipped via express, please note that alcohol may be removed due to shipping restrictions.
Waterless Car Wash: This product is perfect for maintaining your vinyl wrap after installation. It’s especially useful for quickly removing bird droppings or other contaminants from the surface.
Prep Wash: A powerful degreaser similar to car wash shampoo, Prep Wash is designed to remove all contaminants from the surface of your vehicle, ensuring the vinyl adheres properly.
Small Brush: This tool is included to help you clean those hard-to-reach edges and crevices on your vehicle before wrapping.
Clay Bar: A light-duty clay bar is provided to pick up any remaining dirt and contaminants from the surface of your vehicle. This minimizes the risk of bumps and imperfections under the vinyl wrap.
Microfiber Towels:
- Wash Mitt: A microfiber mitt that you can wear on your hand to thoroughly clean your vehicle.
- Microfiber Towels: These versatile towels are ideal for wiping down the vehicle after cleaning, or for any other cleaning needs during the installation process.
2. Vinyl Kit
The Vinyl Kit includes all the specialized tools you’ll need to apply the vinyl wrap, many of which are the same tools we use in our professional shop:
Wrap Tool Belt: A handy belt to keep all your tools organized and within reach during the installation.
Practice Kit: This kit contains practice sheets that allow you to try out your wrapping techniques before you begin working on the larger panels.
Squeegees:
- Standard Squeegees: You’ll receive two squeegees along with 12 microfiber buffers that can be easily swapped out as needed.
- Chipper Squeegee: This smaller squeegee is great for getting into tight crevices and cleaning edges effectively.
- 45° Squeegee: Designed to help you get into edges and corners with ease.
Edge Grabber: This tool is perfect for wrapping around the back part of the edges, helping you achieve a clean, professional finish.
Wrap Magnets: You’ll receive two magnets that are extremely helpful when working solo. They hold the vinyl in place on one side of the vehicle while you work on the other, preventing it from falling.
Wrap Gloves: Two pairs of gloves are included to help you handle the vinyl smoothly and avoid fingerprints or creases.
Heat Gun: The kit includes a heat gun with adjustable settings. We recommend using the highest heat and airflow settings for the best results.
13-Piece Pre-Cut Vinyl Kit: The kit comes with 13 pre-cut vinyl pieces, each labeled for easy identification (e.g., “Hood,” “Fender”). This ensures you know exactly which piece you’re working with at all times.
